Volunteer
Volunteers are vital to our success! They help raise general awareness of animal welfare issues and assist staff to carry out the mission of the Iowa City Animal Care & Adoption Center throughout our community. Volunteering at the Center is both educational and fun. Knowing that an animal is benefiting from your generosity and compassion is a very rewarding experience for you and the Center staff.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and should be prepared to donate a minimum of 25 hours to the Animal Care and Adoption Center each calendar year.
Volunteers are required to attend a 30 minute orientation class, complete an application, sign a waiver, pass a background check and attend hands-on training classes.
To sign up for orientation, call or visit the Animal Care and Adoption Center during regular business hours: Mon - Fri 10:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. and Sat 10:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Temporarily located at: 4852 Sand Road, Iowa City. 319-356-5295.
