Increases adoptability of Center dogs by providing funds for the Paws to Train program which teaches Center dogs basic obedience.
Medical
Friends of the Animal Center Foundation provides for the health needs of Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center animals above and beyond what the Center's budget can pay for.
Quality of life
We provide an environment of comfort and care for Center animals to reduce stress and help prevent development of behavior problems.
Education
Friends of the Animal Center Foundation supports education and outreach to adoptive persons and the public at large concerning the needs of companion animals.
Friendly Paws
The Friendly Paws program provides residents of Assisted Living facilities the opportunity to interact in a safe and fun manner with animals and to raise awareness within the Assisted Living community of the goals and services of the Animal Center and FACF as well as animal specific issues such as overpopulation and preventing animal abuse.
Foster Care
Provides coordination, training and educational materials for foster parents as well as medications and supplies a foster parent needs to care for an animal.
